Cadence Bank Promotes John Griffith to Division President, Pine Belt Region

HATTIESBURG, Miss., November 9, 2022 – Cadence Bank (NYSE: CADE) announced today that John Griffith has been named Division President - Pine Belt region.

Griffith is responsible for overseeing the company’s community banking operations in the Pine Belt region, composed of nine counties in Southeast Mississippi. In this role, he also collaborates with multiple lines of businesses on optimal ways to grow business within the markets and bolster the company’s local consumer and commercial lending efforts.

Griffith is a banking industry veteran, having spent 24 years as a commercial banking executive with a large regional bank and another 10 years as a commercial banker with a community bank based in Meridian, Mississippi. Since joining Cadence Bank (formerly BancorpSouth) in 2019, Griffith has served as the Hattiesburg, Mississippi market president and director of Corporate Commercial and Industrial and Syndications, a position where he led the company’s middle-market efforts east of the Mississippi River and established local teams in the Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee markets.

Griffith earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mississippi State University. He has completed the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University and the Oklahoma Commercial Lending School.

Griffith serves on the University of Southern Mississippi Business Advisory Council, Hattiesburg Area Development Partnership and is active in many other civic and charitable organizations. In addition, he has served as past president of YMCA of Hattiesburg, past president of United Way of South Mississippi, past president of Southeast Mississippi Community Investment Corporation and past chairman of the United Way of Southeast Mississippi’s Grand Giver’s Society.
